Your Mind is Your Greatest Asset

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly. - Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein possessed one of the greatest minds of all time. When I read this quote it really speaks to me and I can relate to it. I feel it’s necessary for us to understand that our mind is our greatest asset. The way you think about yourself is what is going translate into the real world. Do you think less of yourself? Do you doubt you can be a great leader? What is the first thing you are thinking about when you first get up in the morning? I truly believe that your day will be either good or bad depending on what type of mindset you have when you first wake up. It is on that moment when your mind says, “Good Morning! What type of mindset are you having today.”

There are times when we say to ourselves, “I thought it was going to be a good day. What went wrong?”. We have to understand that each day brings its own struggles. I’m not saying that you have to be happy all day long, but having control of what you tell your mind is key. I’ve always wonder how some people walk around all day with an attitude. I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about. The guy/girl at the office that seems angry all the time or your boss that seems like he needs to take a permanent vacation. I think that as long as you can feed your brain positive energy throughout the day, no matter what happens, you will have a great day.

What Are You Feeding Your Mind?

No, I’m not talking about “actual” food. What I mean by “feeding” is the type of information you are putting into your brain. In order to become an expert in your profession, you have to keep improving your skills every single day. If you want to lead, teach, and help others succeed, its important to educate yourself first. Lets take a mechanic for example. When a customer walks into the shop, he/she express their car is making a weird noise. The mechanic starts looking at the car to see what could be wrong with it. After looking at the car, he then goes to look for the right tool that could help him fix the car. If the mechanic himself does not know what he needs to fix the car, how does he expect to fix cars or teach anyone how to do so to begin with? Just like the a mechanic has to go through training and constantly stay up to date on everything that’s happening in his niche, we as entrepreneurs have to do the same.

Personally, I love reading. I can sit down and read books all day. But, not everyone enjoys a good book. If you don’t like reading, how about listening to an audio cd or attending a seminar? There are plenty of things you can do to educate yourself and grow as a leader in your profession. The most important thing is to be constantly learning, improving, and feeding your mind the information it needs so you can become the person and leader you were born to be. I don’t want you to settle for less. It’s time you stop settling for less and start telling yourself, “I deserve better. My family deserves better. I will do everything in my power to get ahead. I will not let anything or anyone get in the way of my blessings.” I truly believe from the bottom of my heart that if you say this each and every day, you will be successful in life and in business. I encourage you to take a look at the “Personal Development” tab in my blog to find out how you can start feeding your brain the information it needs to stay ahead of the pack.
